With Idealista we started from the existing application to identify its problems and therefore our redesign challenges. According to the observation and interviews with real users, we mapped their journey and created a persona. For the redesign itself we proceeded first with wireframing and UI options in parallel, and then we came to define a new stile guide for the Idealista brand, the main interactive elements, and finally the complete prototype of the app with a much-improved look and functionality. To conclude the project we asked our test users to quantitatively and qualitatively evaluate the redesign.
With Aurora we designed not only a mobile app but a whole service and system for the Bovisa Campus of Politecnico di Milano during the third phase of coexistence with the Covid-19 virus. Starting with a brief from Bending Spoons, we dived into a deep desk research on the pandemic management strategies put in place worldwide to understand how to sustain life on campus. Starting from the best safety strategies we developed the Aurora concept: a service app that allows students to safely manage their lunch breaks, the most vulnerable moment in their journey on campus during the pandemic. We analysed the elements involved in the system and their relations, designed a new user journey for our personas, and the application for them to interact with the system. For the mobile app in particular we opted for a bright identity and a dynamic style. We finally designed a refined prototype of the app to showcase all its advantages and functionalities.
